Summons.

Calling—
privilege or curse.
One moment, one;
another, the other.
Fair, never;
but never the measure.

What is required of me
was required of all.
Choice—
to shoulder what others release,
to stand where others turn aside.
The cost arrives first;
the blessing, if any, unnamed.
A lifetime opens—
one hundred twenty years
to fill with obedience.

This I know:
bound—
not by demand,
not by fear,
but by a fire within.

YHWH Elohim speaks,
and what was made does not endure the
weight.
What was entrusted
will not be kept.

Why must I alone
carry the weight
given first to all?
